Gail Doby, ASIDChief Vision Officer & Interior Design MuseAfter graduating with a BSBA from the University of Arkansas, I was a sales and marketing representative for the carpet division of a Fortune 500 company, Armstrong World Industries. I lived in Oklahoma City and Houston – and called on architects and interior designers to specify commercial products. For the next 4 ½ years, I worked for an Armstrong carpet and flooring distributor calling on architects and designers. After that, I worked for American Airlines while they were designing a new online reservation system with Marriott, Budget Rent-A-Car and Hilton Hotels. It was my first paid design project. The first day on the job, I looked at the color board for the office space we were designing. Pepto Bismol pink was specified for the break room wall color, and the next day, I met with the project designer to reselect. While in design school, I started Renaissance Design, Inc (August 15, 1992) which was named in honor of my mother - a true Renaissance woman. Personal Tidbits
